Well for starters I do have a legitimate business with an abn number and insurance.
I have over 5 years of training and experience in all things photography, newborns are hard work, they are harsh on the back as well but that doesn’t stop me doing what I love to do. My prices are at a reasonable price to cover my time, my insurance and all the other overheads I have. I don’t make much profit doing what I love to do. Make sure if you look for a photographer make sure they are trained in safety of newborns and also have a legitimate business. The cheaper photographers that sell Their photos for cheaper prices is because they picked up a dslr camera one day with no safety and training in mind. There are some wonderful photographers out there but you need to question yourself this.... if a photographer is offering $50 to photograph your family and they have no insurance what will happen if they handled your baby wrong? Because they haven’t learned how to move a baby into a safe position. Be very mindful that safety should be the forefront of choosing your photographer than question everything else.
if it’s too good to be true than it is. You get what you pay for like a bad tattoo.
please choose wisely I have seen these things happen before and it makes me unhappy that our industry isn’t even regulate. I will be getting back in the Australian institute of Professional photographers once the Restrictions ease more. As a high standard photographer our industry needs to educate our clients.
